The five IMD MBA Alumni Scholarships are designed to encourage diversity in the class. One is awarded to each region: Asia, Africa/Middle East, Latin America, Eastern Europe and Western Europe/North America/Oceania.

Accepted candidates who are citizens, but not necessarily current residents, of the above geographical areas
Criteria
Submitting an essay on: “As a business
leader, which issue would you set as your first priority to address in
your region / country? Why would you choose this issue? How would you,
personally, address it?” (maximum 1000 words)
Please draw on your own experiences in your answer, rather than on
general, broad statements. The committee is looking for essays that are
personal, visionary and demonstrate leadership, which include a clearly articulated description of how the solution could be implemented.

The Academy Scholars Program identifies and supports outstanding
scholars at the start of their careers whose work combines
disciplinary excellence in the social sciences (including history and
law) with a command of the language, history, or culture of
non-Western countries or regions. Their scholarship may elucidate
domestic, comparative, or transnational issues, past or present.
Post-doctoral Academy Scholars will receive an annual stipend of
$48,000, and pre-doctoral Academy Scholars will receive an annual
stipend of $28,000. Applications for the 2011-2012 class of Academy
Scholars are due by October 1, 2010. Finalist interviews will take
place in Cambridge on December 6. Notification of Scholarships will be
made in January, 2011.

Survey of Schools, ICT and Education (SMART 2010/0039)
Please note that, as of 5 July 2010, the tender specifications for
this call have been updated, due to a change with regard to the
categories of schools to be considered for analysis.
The objectives of the study are to collect information on and assess
the impact of ICT use in schools for the purpose of teaching/learning.
To this end, (an) appropriate survey(s) will be designed and carried
out in the 27 EU Member States + Croatia, Iceland, Norway and Turkey
and the results assessed and discussed in a study report, also
containing an extensive set of data charts and tables. In addition,
information on the situation in each country will be prepared in the
form of a set of individual country profiles.
