Member of the Research Staff: Document Image Analysis

The Palo Alto Research Center seeks a researcher in Computer Vision, Document Recognition, Machine Learning, or related fields to join an established team building systems for advanced document image understanding.

The challenge is to formulate insightful theory and algorithms motivated by document analysis needs, then build effective software prototypes that can be integrated into solutions.

Specific topics of research may include:
o layout analysis
o modeling of document genres and collections
o evidential reasoning mixing diverse spatial and textual cues -probabilistic logic for expressing business rules
